Re-accreditation 2021

 

 

The Agency for Science and Higher Education, in accordance with the Law on Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education and the Ordinance on the content of the permit and the conditions for issuing permits for higher education, study programs and reaccreditation of higher education institutions conducts reaccreditation of higher education institutions. All public and private higher education institutions undergo a re-accreditation process in five-year cycles. In accordance with the Higher Education Reaccreditation Plan, the Department of Mathematics is included in the re-accreditation in 2021.

The following timeline positions Self-Evaluation Report preparation and writing related activities into chronological order:

  • 3 July 2020 - The Department received a Notification from the Agency for Science and Higher Education, where it can be seen that at its 117th session held on 16 June 2020 the Accreditation Council of the Agency for Science and Higher Education adopted the Plan for Re-accreditation of Higher Education Institutions for 2021, pursuant to which, the Department must undergo a re-accreditation review in 2021.
  • 3 July 2020 - All employees of the Department were informed by e-mail that the Department of Mathematics was included in the Plan for Re-accreditation of Higher Education Institutions for 2021.
  • 12 October 2020 - The Head of the Department issued the Decision appointing Dr. Zoran Tomljanović, Associate Professor, Deputy Head of Department for Education and Students, and Marija Sabo, BSc (Econ), Head of the Office for Quality Enhancement and Assurance in Higher Education, Science, Projects, EU Programmes and International Cooperation (hereinafter: the Quality Assurance Office) as administrators of the MOZVAG information system for support in evaluation procedures of study programmes.
  • 26 October 2020 -The Department Council adopted the Decision on the appointment of the Committee for the Preparation of the Self-Evaluation Report and the Re-accreditation Procedure of the Department.
  • 27 October 2020 - The Agency for Science and Higher Education organised an online training for preparing a self-evaluation report for representatives of those higher education institutions whose re-accreditation is planned to be carried out in accordance with the Plan for Re-accreditation of Higher Education Institutions for 2021. The workshop was attended by Dr. Kristian Sabo, Full Professor, Head of the Department, Dr. Zoran Tomljanović, Associate Professor, Deputy Head of Department for Education and Students, Marija Sabo, BSc (Econ), Head of the Quality Assurance Office, and Vlado Fotak, LLB, Academic Secretary to the Department.
  • 12 November 2020 - The Department received a Notification of the re-accreditation procedure of the Department from the Agency for Science and Higher Education, according to which the visit of the Expert Panel to the Department is scheduled for the period from 12 to 16 April 2021. The notification also states that the deadline for submitting the Self-Evaluation Report as well as for data entry into the MOZVAG database is 15 March 2021.
  • 13 November 2020 -The first meeting of the members of the Committee for the Preparation of the Self-Evaluation Report and the Re-accreditation Procedure of the Department was held, at which working groups for the preparation of certain topics of the Self-Evaluation Report were defined. It was also agreed that a website will be designed where all the documents necessary for the preparation of the Self-Evaluation Report will be stored. Department offices and services were instructed to collect the necessary data.
  • 20 November 2020 - The second meeting of the Committee for the Preparation of the Self-Evaluation Report and the Re-accreditation Procedure of the Department was held, and a timetable was set according to which by 15 January 2021 at the latest and in coordination with other groups, each working group should complete the chapter or topic it is in charge of. After that, the Self-Evaluation Report content will be open for discussion in which all employees of the Department will participate and which will be concluded on 30 January 2021.
  • 20 November 2020 – 11 January 2021 - Consultative meetings were held daily at the level of working groups.
  • 8 December 2020 - The Agency for Science and Higher Education organised an online training in data entry and verification in the MOZVAG database. The workshop was attended by BSc (Econ), Head of the Quality Assurance Office, and Mirna Šušak Lukačević, MSc, Senior Librarian, Head of Library.
  • 11 December 2020 - As suggested by the Agency for Science and Higher Education, the Head of the Department sent a letter to the Agency for Science and Higher Education requesting an exemption of the Integrated undergraduate and graduate university study programme in Mathematics and Informatics, specialisation: Teaching, from the re-accreditation process.
  • 11 December 2020 - In agreement with the Agency for Science and Education, the year of evaluation of the Department is the calendar year 2020 and the academic year 2019/2020.
  • ·16 December 2020 -Mirna Šušak Lukačević, MSc, Senior Librarian, Head of Library, participated in an online training related to the possibilities of connecting the MOZVAG database with the Croatian scientific bibliography (CROSBI) database.
  • 11 January 2021 - The Self-Evaluation Report content was open for discussion at the Department, in which all employees of the Department as well as student representatives took part. The discussion was concluded on 30 January 2021, and after collecting feedback in the form of comments and suggestions, the final version of the Self-Evaluation Report was compiled and prepared.
  • 19 February 2021 The Department Council adopted the Self-Evaluation Report.
